PINTSCH BAMAG GmbH goes full-on brakes!

  • Expansion into the ‘Global Player’ realm for the Drive Technology product group
  • Growth leads to world market leadership in the crane brakes segment in continually expanding markets

Dinslaken, July 25th, 2007.
PINTSCH BAMAG Antriebs- und Verkehrstechnik GmbH, a 100% subsidiary of Schaltbau Holding AG in Munich that specializes in drive and transport technology concluded its purchase of industrial brake specialist “Bubenzer Bremsen Gerhard Bubenzer Ing. GmbH” on 17 July 2007. The sale also included “Siegerland Bremsen Gerhard Bubenzer Ing. KG”.  Both companies are headquartered in Kirchen-Wehbach, Siegerland, Germany and their US and Malaysian subsidiaries were also taken over in the deal. The takeover is retroactively effective as of 1 July 2007. Bubenzer Bremsen GmbH, founded in 1958 and currently employing some 90 workers, achieved turnover of approximately 26 million Euros in the 2006 fiscal year.

Quality Pays

Many years of experience and high quality production have made PINTSCH BAMAG a specialist in the brake technology sector. The company, based in Dinslaken, Germany and boasting a wealth of tradition, has been developing and manufacturing brakes since 1935 for use throughout the world in the shipbuilding, harbor crane systems, offshore technology and industrial application segments. “The purchase of Bubenzer Bremsen represents a consistent expansion of our existing, positive market position”, explains Dr. Rolf-Dieter Krächter, Executive Director of PINTSCH BAMAG Antriebs- und Verkehrstechnik GmbH.  “Both companies have established themselves worldwide as industrial brakes technology specialists. At the same time, this move opens up new markets to us in the mining, steel industry and wind power sectors”, Krächter went on to say.

The complementary business operations and product lines supplement one another ideally.  Together with Bubenzer Bremsen, PINTSCH BAMAG now has virtually global market coverage.  The mutual use of sales representatives and branches enables optimum regional extension of each of the current market accesses.

Setting Off Together!

There will be no initial change for the employees of both companies. “We are relying on the expertise and commitment of our employees to meet the high demands of the market and simultaneously to establish PINTSCH and Bubenzer as a united, major player on the market stage,” declares Dr. Rolf-Dieter Krächter. “The challenge lies only in coordinating the products and processes with one another cohesively, guaranteeing the best possible utilization of capacities. This provides us with the opportunity to design our economic future together.”
